Jermiah Nichols was born in Hinds Co. Mississippi, to Henry and Eleanor Nichols. In May of 1833, his father, Henry Nichols Sr., dies when Jeremiah is only 13 years old. On September 1 1836, Jeremiah's mother, Eleanor, remarries to Jesse Morgan. Between March of 1843 and November of 1844 Jeremiah moved to Bradley Co., Arkansas. While there he ends up purchasing all the land that all his siblings inheirited after thier fathers death. In 1846 Drew Co is formed from surrounding Counties, including Bradley Co, which he is now in.
On January 9 1848, Jeremiah Marries Hulda E Trefoe, in East Carrol Parish Louisiana. Jeremiah then settles in Bartholomew Township where his fist child, William Harrison Nichols is born on December 11 1848. His main Occupation is being a farmer. On January 14 1852, Charlie Nichols is born. On May 25 1853, Mary S Nichols is born. In 1855, Euginia Jane Nichols is born. In 1859, Henry Nichols is born. According to the old church records of Rock Springs called "Charter Members of the Society at Rock Springs in 1859, Jerimiah and Hulda helped organize the first church in Rock Springs.
In 1860, Jeremiah is still farming. In 1861 Alfred Monroe Nichols is born. On October 15 1863, Jeremiah enlisted in Monticello with the Confederate Army as a Corpral in Co. B Wright's Regiment, Arkansas Calvary. At the time of his enlistment his wife, Hulda, is pregnant with their 7th child. While he is away Hulda gives birth to a Daughter, Jane D Nichols, which dies 2 days later. Jeremiah serves faithfuly until the end of the war in May of 1865. Upon his return home he resumes his life as a farmer. On August 6 1866, John S Nichols is born.
In 1870, Jeremiah sees his first son(William H) Married on January 20, he is still farming. On January 16 1872, Charlie gets married. On January 2 1874, Mary S gets married. Around 1876, Euginia gets married.
In 1880, Jeremiah is still a Farmer in Drew Co. He feels as if his time is coming so he begins selling all his land to his children.
On September 28 1883, Jeremiah dies and is buried in Rock Springs Cemetary in Drew Co. He did not leave a will
