He married SARAH S ALBRIGHT 05 Jun 1843 in Haywood or Montgomery Co., Tennessee, daughter of ISSAC ALBRIGHT and PHILOPENA RICH. She was born 25 Jan 1825 in North Carolina, Orange Co, and died 15 Dec 1879 in Monticello, Drew Co., Arkansas.
Robert was born Febuary 25, 1821 in Montgomery Co., Tennessee. About 1840 he was a land overseer in Haywood Co., Tennessee. A family legend is that in 1840, Robert saw Sarah Albright walking along her father's wagon when the Albright's moved to Tennessee and declaring that she would be his wife. They were married 3 years later on June 5 1843. Robert and Sarah settled in Drew Co by 1844. He is listed on Census Records through 1880 in Drew Co., Arkansas.
Robert had 320 acres of land and farmed 75 acres of it. He was in the Confederate Army for a short time but did not engage in any battles. In 1865 he took the amnesty oath.
Robert and Sarah had 9 children. Eight of thier children lived to adulthood, married and continued to live in Arkansas. Sarah died in 1879 and Robert lived until 1892
