IVERSON LEE BROOKS (CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM, CHRISTOPHER, THOMAS, JONATHAN) was born 28 Feb 1829 in North Carolina, Caswell Co, and died Dec 1876 in Monticello, Drew Co., Arkansas. He married BETTIE A [BROOKS] Abt. 1855 in Tennessee, Haywood Co(?). She was born Abt. 1840 in Tennessee, Haywood Co(?), and died 22 Jul 1907 in Monticello, Drew Co., Arkansas.

Iverson Lee Brooks was born in 1829 in Caswell Co., North Carolina. He married Bettie A(?) possibly in Haywood Co Tennessee around 1850 to 1856. In 1859 with his 2 Children and wife he moved to Drew Co Arkansas to start his career as a lawyer. Two year later war broke out and he enlisted as a Sargent in the 26th Arkansas Regiment. Soon though he rose to the rank of Lt Colonel and then Colonel. He served in Companies A, G, F, &S. He was paroled after the war and came back home to rebuild his law practice in 1865. In December 1876 he must have died suddenly because he did not have time to make out a will. The National Bar Association of Drew Co passed a Resolution in his honor on February 27 1877. He was buried in Old Monticello Cemetery.
