THOMAS KIMBERLY (ABRAHAM, ABRAHAM?) was born 24 Jun 1604 in England, Gloucester, Wotton Under Edge, and died 12 Feb 1671/72 in Connecticut, New Haven Co, Stratford. He married (1) ALICE ATWOOD 28 Aug 1628 in England, Gloucester Co, Kings Stanley Parish, daughter of SYMON ATWOOD and WELTHIAN TRATMAN. She was born Abt. 1607 in England, Gloucester Co, Kings Stanley Parish, and died 10 Oct 1659 in Connecticut, New Haven Co, New Haven. He married (2) MARY (?) Bet. Apr 1660 - Aug 1661 in Connecticut.

  • ABRAHAM4 KIMBERLY, b. Abt. 1630, England, Gloucester, Wotton Under Edge; d. Feb 1679/80, North Carolina, Albemarle Co.
    He was married in abt 1654 to Hannah Preston, later by his fathers remarraige to become his step-sister. They moved to Edenton, Chowan Co, North Carolina abt 1667, where Abraham was probobly in the boat building business. North Carolina Records indicate that in 1670 Abraham was sworn in court at Edenton to set value of a 14' boat stolen by Capt Jo Outlaw. Upon his death in 1680 at Albemarle Co, North Carolina, Abrahams's estate was claimed by creditors. His wife Hannah, moved back to Stratford, Connecticut where her inheritance and that of her children were remained intact. Abraham's father, Thomas, had left nothing to but his cloak to Abraham but left the balance of his estate to Abraham's wife Hannah.

  • ELEAZER KIMBERLY, b. Abt. 1639, Connecticut, New Haven Co, New Haven; d. 03 Feb 1708/09, Connecticut, Hartford Co, Glastonbury.
    The inscription on Eleazer's gravestone in Glastonbury calls him "the first male born in New Haven". Eleazer attended Harvard College in 1658 and in 1659 and became a teacher. He was one of the organizers of the new town of Glastonbury, Connecticut, where he died in 1709 at the age of 70. He served as school master in Westerfield from 1661 until at least 1682. He was one of the foundewrs of Glastonbury and served that town as Deputy between 1694 and 1698. In 1696 he was elected Secretary of Connecticut Colony and held the position until his death in 1709.
