Isaac Sherman Kimberly (1793-1848) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Hames (1804-Feb 4, 1891) were married on July 3, 1823, at Union, SC, and had 18 children. Yes, eighteen! They moved to Fayette Co, GA around 1844. Elizabeth lived 43 years after Isaac died, and his estate was never settled until her death. Issac moved with his family from Union County CS to Fayette County GA around 1844.
According to Lemuel C Kimberly family Bible, Issac was killed in 1849 when a tree he was cutting down fell on him. Elizabeth live on another 43 years after his death but his estate was not settled until her death in 1891. It seems Issacs second son, William Joe, was appointed executor by the court shortly after Issacs death but that William subsequently moved to Alabama and never administer the estate befroe he died in 1891.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Hames (1804-Feb 4, 1891 was the 4th generation of her family in Union, SC. Her great-grandfather Charles Hames moved there from Lunenburg (now Mecklenburg) County, Virginia in 1767. Her grandfather William fought in the Revolution. Isaac and Elizabeth are buried in the Concord Cemetery about five miles from Union City, GA.
